How We Measure


  • This is a visual guide to how we measure our products. The measurements listed on our website are derived from using these methods.

  • JACKETS
    (Leather Jackets, Cotton Twill Jackets, Wool Jackets, Nylon Jackets)

    • P1 (Shoulders)
      Measure from armhole seam to armhole seam across the shoulders
    • P2 (Chest)
      Measure under arms across the full part of the chest. Be sure to keep the measuring tape level and slightly taut.
    • P3 (Bottom Opening)
      Measure across the bottom hem or rib opening
    • P4 (Collar)
      Fold collar in half as shown, then measure across the collar opening.
    • P5 (Sleeve Length, from arm opening)
      From the arm opening seam, measure to arm cuff opening.
    • P6 (Sleeve length, with shoulder)
      From the center neck seam, measure across shoulder seam and then to the arm cuff opening.
    • P7 (Center Back)
      Starting from the neck seam, measure to the bottom hem, center back.
    • P8 (Arm Opening, Curved)
      Starting from the shoulder seam, following the curve of the armhole, measure to the side seam.

  • JEANS
    (Jeans, Denim Pants)

    • P1 ~ Front Rise Measurement
      Button up the jean. Lay the jean out flat. Measure from the crotch seam to the top of the front of the jean.
    • P2 ~ Upper Thigh Measurement
      Lay the jean out flat. Measure straight from the crotch to the outside of the leg parallel to the waistband.
    • P3 ~ Knee Measurement
      Lay the jean out flat with the outseams at both edges. Measure 13 inches from the crotch down the inside seam of the leg. From this point (13 inches down from the crotch) measure from one side of the pant leg to the other (the width of the knee).
    • P4 ~ Waist Measurement
      Button up the jean. Lay the jean out flat with the top front edge even with the top back edge and pull tight. Measure from one side of the waist to the other. Double this measurement for waist size.
    • P5 ~ Back Rise Measurement
      Button up the jean. Lay the jean out flat. Measure from the crotch seam to the top of the back of the jean.
    • P6 ~ Inseam Measurement
      Lay the jean out flat with inseam at the center of the leg. Measure from the crotch to the edge of the leg along the inside seam of the leg.
    • P7 ~ Leg Opening Measurement
      Lay the jean out flat with the outseams at both edges. Measure from one side of the leg opening to the other side.

  • SWEATSHIRTS
    (Fleece Knits, Loopwheel, Hoodies)

    • P1 (Chest)
      Measure under arms across the full part of the chest. Be sure to keep the measuring tape level and slightly taut.
    • P2 (Bottom Opening)
      Measure across the bottom hem or rib opening.
    • P3 (Shoulders)
      Measure from armhole seam to armhole seam across the shoulders.
    • P4 (Center Back)
      Starting from the neck seam, measure to the bottom hem, center back.
    • P5 (Arm Opening, Curved)
      Starting from the shoulder seam, following the curve of the armhole, measure to the side seam.
    • P6 (Sleeve Length, from arm opening)
      From the arm opening seam, measure to arm cuff opening.
    • P7 (Collar Opening)
      Fold collar in half as indicated, keeping the collar taut but not stretched. While flat, measure the width of the collar.

  • THERMALS
    (Thermals, Thermal Henleys)

    • P1 (Chest)
      Measure under arms across the full part of the chest. Be sure to keep the measuring tape level and slightly taut.
    • P2 (Bottom Opening)
      Measure across the bottom hem or rib opening.
    • P3 (Shoulders)
      Measure from armhole seam to armhole seam across the shoulders.
    • P4 (Center Back)
      Starting from the neck seam, measure to the bottom hem, center back.
    • P5 (Collar Opening)
      Fold collar in half as indicated, keeping the collar taut but not stretched. While flat, measure the width of the collar.
    • P6 (Arm Opening, Curved)
      Starting from the shoulder seam, following the curve of the armhole, measure to the side seam.
    • P7 (Sleeve Length, from arm opening)
      From the arm opening seam, measure to arm cuff opening.

  • SHIRTS
    (Woven, Chambray, Denim, Flannel)

    • P1 (Chest)
      Measure under arms across the full part of the chest. Be sure to keep the measuring tape level and slightly taut.
    • P2 (Waist)
      With the shirt laid flat, measure from edge to edge at the waistline. Measure at the narrowest point of the waist or mid-torso of the shirt.
    • P3 (Bottom Opening, Hip Measurement)
      With the shirt laid flat, measure from edge to edge at the base of the shirt or the bottom opening.
    • P4 (Shoulders, Back)
      Measure from armhole seam to armhole seam across the shoulders where indicated.
    • P5 (Center Back)
      Starting from the neck seam, measure to the bottom hem, center back.
    • P6 (Collar Opening)
      Fold collar in half as indicated, keeping the collar taut but not stretched. While flat, measure the width of the collar, from neck button to the center back of collar.
    • P7 (Arm Opening, Curved)
      Starting from the shoulder seam, following the curve of the armhole, measure to the side seam.
    • P8 (Sleeve Length, from arm opening)
      From the arm opening seam, measure to arm cuff opening.

  • T-SHIRTS
    (Short sleeve, Cotton Blend, Loopwheel)

    • P1 (Chest)
      Measure under arms across the full part of the chest. Be sure to keep the measuring tape level and slightly taut.
    • P2 (Bottom Opening)
      Measure across the bottom hem or rib opening.
    • P3 (Shoulders)
      Measure from armhole seam to armhole seam across the shoulders.
    • P4 (Center Back)
      Starting from the neck seam, measure to the bottom hem, center back.
    • P5 (Sleeve Length, from arm opening)
      From the arm opening seam, measure to arm cuff opening.
    • P6 (Arm Opening, Curved)
      Starting from the shoulder seam, following the curve of the armhole, measure to the side seam.
    • P7 (Collar Opening)
      Fold collar in half as indicated, keeping the collar taut but not stretched. While flat, measure the width of the collar.
  • VESTS
    (Cotton Twill, Linen, Wabash)

    • P1 (Chest)
      Measure under arms across the full part of the chest. Be sure to keep the measuring tape level and slightly taut.
    • P2 (Shoulders, Back)
      Measure from armhole seam to armhole seam across the shoulders where indicated.
    • P3 (Center Back)
      Starting from the neck seam, measure to the bottom hem, center back.
    • P4 (Arm Opening, Curved)
      Starting from the shoulder seam, following the curve of the armhole, measure to the side seam.

  • SHORTS
    (Cotton Twill, Sweats, Utility, Camouflage)

    • P1 ~ Front Rise Measurement
      Button up the shorts. Lay the shorts out flat. Measure from the crotch seam to the top of the front of the shorts.
    • P2 ~ Out Seam Measurement
      Measure the shorts outseam from the top of the waist band to the bottom of leg hem, down the outside side seam of the leg.
    • P3 ~ Upper Thigh Measurement
      Lay the shorts out flat. Measure straight from the crotch to the outside of the leg parallel to the waistband.
    • P4 ~ Back Rise Measurement
      Button up the shorts. Lay the shorts out flat. Measure from the crotch seam to the top of the back of the shorts.
    • P5 ~ Leg Opening Measurement
      Lay the shorts out flat with the outseams at both edges. Measure from one side of the leg opening to the other side.
    • P6 ~ Waist Measurement
      Button up the shorts. Lay the shorts out flat with the top front edge even with the top back edge and pull tight. Measure from one side of the waist to the other. Double this measurement for waist size.
    • P7 ~ Inseam Measurement
      Lay the shorts out flat with inseam at the center of the leg. Measure from the crotch to the edge of the leg along the inside seam of the leg.
  • HATS
    (Knit, Cap, Casquette, Boone Hat)

    • P1 (Crown)
      Measure from the bottom of the hat to the top of the crown.
    • P2 (Inside Circumference)
      Measure with a soft measuring tape along the inside of hat where indicated.
